Hi. My son has taken Adderal which didn't help. He is now on Concerta 36mg and sees little to know affect. He has had extensive testing done and ADD has been the diagnosis. He also takes Zoloft 5mg and 10mg of Abilify. He doesn't seem to get any relief from his ADD at all from medication. Why could that be? Any ideas?

You aren't on a high enough dosage. And I would HIGHLY recommend switching to brand name IR!

Hello I had a question, I take 30mg every morning before classes, however after about 6 hours I start to feel tired and not wanting to do my work anymore. I was wondering If I can take one capsul in the morning, and then 6 hours later take another one? could I do that.

I was recently diagnosed with ADHD and was put on Adderall XR 20mg for 10 days and I felt no effect what's so ever other than loss of appetite and headache. I feel less motivated and still takes me to the last mintue to do my homework. I have never taken medication for anything before and I've been reading several articles and I'm not experienceing anything. After my 10 days were up I went back to the Dr. and he uped my dosage to 40 mg Adderall XR and i've been taking it for about 2 weeks and it's like i'm not taking anything other than sometimes I have a headahche. I also realized that Wal-greens has been giving me the generic brand of adderall xr. Does that have anything to do with it? I go see the Dr. again next week and i'm just not sure what to do or if i should even be taking it because it's not doing anything for me.

I've been taking 60mg(30 morning, 30 afternoon) Add IR.
recenlty, after taking it for past year and half, not only has tolerance been weird(fluctuates from time to time. Sometimes feel exhausted, headache, nervous, For the most part, I don't feel that what brand you get of add differs from the non-generic.
While the only one I think does(Pink Corpharma) the circle pink ones are definitely not chemically the same as the other brands)
My question howewver is this:
Recently, past few days, I've been having some tenderness pain in my lower back. Right where my kidney is.
Over the past couple of days, I've tapered my dosage of adderall but also have switched how my dosage I take at one time. Instead of one 30mg, I take half in the morning(15mg) Which leads me to think either there has been a negative effect due to the tapering(withdrawal) or switching per dose each time I take the adderall).
The other issue could be I feel this:
recently, I swtiched from drinking soda to smart water. I also take tums before I My initial feeling was that by switching from high carbonated sugar drinks like soda(two, three cans daily) to more health conscious liquids/drinks(can't get much better than water to keep hydrated):) I'd feel better than I have.
However, it seems that is not the case. I feel something is wrong.
Where I never had these cramps and aches in my body, I now do. usually, throuighout the day at work, use a heating pad near my left kidney. My right kidney is not hurting. My left isn't excrucitatingly painful, but more of an ache(not sharp) but like a muscle type feeling of pain.
I also get headaches, some dizziness,etc..
I have taking this for a long time, build a big tolerance, so I don't undestand why all of a sudden, nauseau, feeling weird, anxious, panicky and dizzy all have become reality for me?
Could tums effect adderall iun a negative way?
Can Smart water since it contains certain things such as magnesium cause a problem if taking a certain amoutn of adderall? I know magnesium is supposed to help but I am no tfeeling well at all after these days of drinking it.
Please help if can. Thanks,

Kari - adderall is the closest to vyvanse...
Maybe a higher dose of adderall XR, or the short acting adderall may work.
Other than that, vyvanse is unique...
Maybe your doctor can get some cards to give you samples (they do that in Canada, I presume they do that in the us as well).
Good luck.

Hi. I am 28, i was prescibed Cylert my entire childhood until roughly 20 years old. Recently i decided to talk to a doctor about finding a solution to my concentration problems etc. I was first put on Vyvanse 30mg which worked very well for me. Due to the cost being 4 times what Adderal costs for me, i switched after a month. I have been on Aderall xr 20 mg for two months now and it is not working. If anything it works 3 hours after i take it for a couple of hours. The side affects, constipation, and sleep issues are not worth all this! What is similar to Vyvanse? I need a refil this week and am wondering if i should try adding smaller doses of ir or if i should up the xr dose. My doctor doesnt seem too knowlegable which doesnt help much!! Thank you for your time. I love your blog.
