Drugs for ADD/ADHD: Good or Bad?
ByDoes the health care system have your
best interest at heart when it comes
to treating your ADHD?
Here are some shocking facts about ADHD.
* 1.5 Million Adults take stimulant
medication for ADD/ADHD. 10% of them are
over age 50.
* More than 20 Million Children Worldwide
have been diagnosed with ADHD, but only 5-
10% of children suffering with ADHD are
estimated to be diagnosed at all.
For lots more fascinating facts about ADHD,
read my special report, which you can get
here:The State of ADD/ADHD Medication.
* ADHD is poised to become the world’s
leading childhood disorder treated with
medication.
* Global use of ADHD medications rose
threefold from 1993 through 2006.
Are all these prescriptions necessary?
I’m an ADHD doctor. See my surprising
answer in my special report, which you can
get here (hint – the devil’s in the

The drug companies have YOU in their
crosshairs.
But you are not a statistic.
Your best defense against becoming just an
ADHD number is becoming educated and
learning all you can about ADHD.
You can start with this special free report that I’ve just

Dr. Kenny Handelman, MD FRCPC
P.S.
The fact is, your ADHD treatment plan is
controlled by a health care system that may
not have your best interests at heart. YOU
can take control by educating yourself. Is
that the way it should be? Perhaps not.
But learning about ADHD isn’t as hard as you
think. Take the next step with my fr.ee

Hello Dr. Kenny:
I’m an adult ADD patient, currently taking Concerta 36 and have had nothing but excellent results.
I work in a ‘creative’ field and pay for my meds across the counter, and my productivity has increased ten-fold since I’ve been able to drill down on my projects.
That said, I’m in above-average condition and compete in several sports, including soccer and rugby, and monitor my cardio-vascular numbers very carefully.
I’ve launched a blog about my adventures at hurricanebrain.org. Come on over and have a look around.
Drugs for ADD/ADHD: Good or Bad?…
Does the health care system have yourbest interest at heart when it comesto treating your ADHD?Here are some shocking facts about ADHD….
i have been taking concerta and i have had no changes i still act out and can not foces
dont take these drugs unless you are diagnosed with ADD or ADHD the side effects of these meds can do more harm to someone who doesnt have ADD/ADHD. talk to your dr about this and see if they can have you tested because they wont recommend these meds unless you have these conditions.
No way i have adhd and im worried about the medication now cause i aint took any yet im wating for my first perscription. i dont eat allot or drink tap water and milk as it is as im conncerned about gmo plus other worrying facts i have learned. Cant the world just fuck off and understand my problem rather than posioning me.
I was reading an article in which the effects of Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) were tested on elementary school students. The results of this study indicated that CCPT was an effective intervention for elementary school students. Of the 4 students in the study, 2 showed marked improvement in their hyperactivity and inattentiveness and 2 showed questionable improvement in theses same areas after 6 weeks of CCPT 2 times per week for 30-minute sessions.
This study was titled “ADHD Symptom Reduction in Elementary Students: A Single-Case Effectiveness Design” and was published in “Professional School Counseling”, Oct2009, Vol. 13 Issue 1, p11-22.
As the parent of a child with many ADHD tendencies, this leads me to think that it is worth checking out lesser-known forms of therapy for dealing with ADHD before going to a medication-based regimen, especially when the suggested drug has not been on the market long enough to know the long-term side effects to the brain.
Here are a couple of links to other sites talking about play therapy and ADHD:
Here are those websites. For some reason, they did not publish the first time

i have a question both of my son have adhd but i my mother inlaw insist that giving them medication is bad for them. Is this true?
Monique – ADHD medications can be very helpful when one is diagnosed properly and the medications are monitored appropriately.
Medications for adhd and ADD, work alright. They work TOO well. As a 16 year old girl from Pennslyvania, I know that. I’ve had symptoms ranging from hallucinations, to weight loss, to social anxiety. (EXTREME shyness). It wasn’t my body that caused these symptoms; it was pills. Adderall for the hallucinations, ridelen for everything else. (Big words; can’t spell right). It is my opinion that the American medical community, including phychiatrists, have no idea what they’re doing. I should know; I’ve been to numerous doctors and taken meds since 3rd grade. ADD meds should only be used as a last resort. I only say this because parents tend to do what doctors tell them, without considering the opinions of their own children. I want mothers and fathers of children with adhd to know there are risks they put their children through when giving them meds. If your kids are hyper, don’t contain them more than they are ALREADY contained. Make them try out for sports, get them out of the house more often, take them to a playground, be actively involved in their social lives, MAKE SURE THEY HAVE FRIENDS!! (When I’m off the pills, I have less controll of myself, people don’t like me like that… But on them, I’m TOO controlled, and too scared to speak at all…) PLEASE think hard before giving pills to your kids… I want you to know what happened to me, so it does not happen to YOUR children. Please don’t delete my comment. I only want to help.
Bad, it can cause heart and blood-pressure problems. And it may also cause psychosis.
My son has ADHD,he’ is 8 years old now, but has been taking Conserta 27Mg in the mornings, and Abilify 27Mg at night. For almost 2 years. They had helped him to be more in control, he still has his agresiveness (from time to time). But now he has a tic ;He moves his shoulders & face up and down, as well as making a sound, mostly of the time not noticeing. Have anybody had experienced something like that? What should I do!
I meant Abilify 15 mg. Thanks.
