iPhone, Airplanes and Adult ADD-ADHD

Medication Mastery 7 Day Sale

I’m writing this blog post from 34,000 feet in the air.
(I can’t post it from here - so the fact that you’re reading this means
that I’ve landed safely).

I had a novel experience today.
You see, I’m flying to Vancouver today for an ADHD experts meeting.
I got an email from Air Canada yesterday, letting me know that
I can check in online for my flight this morning.

So far, pretty routine…

Well, I recently got the 3G iphone…

After checking in online, I chose the option of having my
boarding pass sent to my iphone via text message (SMS).

So, 2 seconds later, I got a text message, which was my boarding pass!
It also had a link to a ‘bar code’ that could be scanned to
let me on the plane.

I loved this! I must admit that it felt weird to hand my iphone to the
security people when they asked to see my boarding pass.

What does this have to do with ADD, you may be asking yourself right now?

Everything.

The creator of the first e-tickets for airline travel was David
Neeleman, former CEO of Jet Blue.

He has ADD himself, and found
a creative solution for always forgetting his boarding pass.

When he first suggested an ‘e-ticket’, people thought it was absurd.

But, in classic ADD fashion, he persisted with it -
and it has changed the whole industry and become the standard.

And a few short years later, I could check into a flight with my iphone!

I love it!

You see, the problems with adult ADD/ADHD can be significant.

Have you ever wondered why:

- You can’t focus on work until the workday is almost over…
- Your bills go unpaid even though you have the money…
- Your clothes are on the floor…
- You forget to close the refrigerator…
- You can’t read without the TV on…
- You hate housework, but when faced with a deadline on a project, feel the need to clean the kitchen…
- Arriving anywhere five minutes early makes you uncomfortable and antsy…
- Your Christmas tree is still up in July?

On the flip side, the solutions to adult ADD can be tremendously rewarding.

The trick is finding the right path.

My friend and colleague, senior ADD Coach Bonnie Mincu may be able to help you to find YOUR path.
She’s holding a f.r.e.e. teleseminar for Adults with ADD/ADHD, where
she’ll spend 90 minutes with you in a teleclass.
It will provide 60 minutes of information, with 30 minutes built in for discussion and questions.

Covering the basics of Adult ADD / ADHD, she’ll:

…Discuss typical ADD traits, including many that may surprise you
…Explore the intriguing paradox of inattention and hyper-focus
…Acknowledge the strengths of ADD, as well as its frustrations.
…Explain the reasons why ADD creates challenges in everyday life
…Learn why ADD affects executive functions of the brain like planning,
…prioritizing and long-term goal setting
…Discuss the higher incidence of other disorders that accompany ADD
…Understand why ADDers are more prone to addiction and stimulation-seeking behavior
…Suggest helpful, versus non-productive, strategies to break through frustrating ADD habits

In addition to being able to attend this no-cost teleclass, she’ll even give you some notes and the recording of the call.
