Today is the 5th day I've been taking Vyvanse and found its effects to be much more desirable than my previous medications (Ritalin and Concerta). I am presently taking two 20 mg capsules first thing in the morning, but am finding I may need to increase the amount. I intend on doing more research before making any changes. Though my doctor seems to be quite competent with all of the medical issues I've had, his knowledge of ADHD doesn't seem to be so in-depth. In all the conversations I've had with others, that seems to be the norm.

I just wanted to say that after trying focalin XR, focalin, and Daytrana, I just started taking Vyvanse about 5 days ago and it is great! It is very smooth; I was very jittery and nervous on the other meds and there were definite peaks, valleys, and ultimately crashes. But Vyvanse is different; it gradually comes on (within 30-40 minutes) and then lasts all day-no ups, downs, just the same. I am definitely more alert and focused but without all of that jittery edginess. Interestingly, I was diagnosed with ADD while taking my 5-year old for his diagnosed ADHD! He is actually taking the same med., too! We have both had the exact same treatment course and just like his mom, the medication is working wonderfully for him as well. Only drawback (for him, not me) is the lack of appetite. Me-I can stand to lose about 20, but my son can't. So, we'll see how it goes. So far, so good! Mon
