Social Network for ADHD: Free Speech
By Dr. Kenny HandelmanIn a recent LA Times article, Ms. Ellison discusses the Facebook group for ADHD, which is sponsored by McNeil Pharma – the makers of Concerta.
She explains that this ‘ADHD Moms’ group is not interactive, and she’s concerned about whether some of the information shared in that group is actually biased.
You can read her article on this here.
That is one of the reasons that I started ADHD World – a social network for ADD and ADHD. It is set up for anyone who is interested in ADD and ADHD, and there are no external funding sources which could impact the content. I am an active participant, as are almost 900 members.
Will you join us?

Best,

I find it disconcerting that a pharmaceutical company once again has its drug laced finger tips on an ADHD discussion, albeit, on a social networking Website. The pharmaceutical industry already has hijacked patient advocacy groups such as CHADD. Their sponsorship of anything related to ADHD is tainted with bias at best, and injurious intent at worst.
I will skip that particular ADHD outlet, thank you.

I don’t know who you are, Don, but you sound like you have serious oppositional defiance. CHADD is a great organization. They helped me when I was in college and about to flunk out, and the local support group helped my mom to get my dad to see that his problems were LOTS worse than mine when it came to ADD. (He was half of my problems at home, always up my butt and yelling.)
