Strattera Price Change In Canada
ByEli Lilly, the maker of Strattera in Canada, has announced that it is implementing a price change for Strattera in Canada.
Previously, all doses of Strattera cost: $3.98 CDN per capsule, irrespective of the dosage. This pricing model is called ‘flat pricing’. Strattera comes in the following strengths: 10 mg, 18 mg, 25 mg, 40 mg, 60 mg.
Effective March 1, 2009, Strattera will have the following prices in Canada:
- Strattera 10 mg…………………Cost = $2.60 per capsule
- Strattera 18 mg…………………Cost = $2.98 per capsule
- Strattera 25 mg…………………Cost = $3.29 per capsule
- Strattera 40 mg…………………Cost = $3.75 per capsule
- Strattera 60 mg…………………Cost = $4.16 per capsule
It is my hope that this will make this medicine more accessible to people who are on lower doses. Of course, the highest dose will be more expensive now, but the other strengths are less expensive.
One of the big concerns is that Strattera, and all of the newer medicines, are hard for families to afford if they don’t have insurance.

This is wonderful news for me – a university student. I just started taking strattera a month ago, and so far the result has been very good. The biggest problem is that each 40mg pill was around $5, and my insurance company doesn’t cover it.
grrr just called my pharmacy and was told that they have no price change and likely won;t till the older stock is depleted!!!! Thsi price change would cut our cost by half!!!

Hi Dr. Kenny,
I am very angry with the cost in general for strattera and I would think that most adults require at least 80 mg to be effective. It was a ripp off before and this just gets worse. What happen to the 80 mg tabs? I can hardly wait until the patten runs out and hopefully there is some competition.
