Earlier this evening I listened to the 7th session of “Unwrapping the Gifts” featuring Sari Solden, I was fortunate enough to have my 22 year old daughter home for the evening and I asked her to listen along with me (she and her father are quite skeptical about this whole “ADD thing”). Sari’s presentation along with your wonderful questions and summaries was exactly what I needed to give some much needed validity to a host of frustrating behaviours and unexplainable difficulties I have experienced my entire life.

I was diagnosed a year ago with ADD at the age of 51. The recurring story I hear so often is that Women finally realize “that sounds just like me” as they educate themselves about ADD/ADHD due to having a son or daughter who has been diagnosed. This was the way I dicovered why I was so different from those mothers who could do it all. I loved hearing that Sari has “piles” everywhere still and that’s O.K.!

Many thanks to you Dr. Handleman and to your generous colleagues for sharing your knowledge, insight and wonderful optimism (at no charge!) to so many needy children, parents, families and hopefully other health care professionals. I think more training should be given to everyone in a health related job, it’s astounding the number of women who end up with anxiety & depression due to a missed diagnosis and the prescribed meds for depression just don’t work for Attention Deficit. There is quite a lot of truth to the saying…”If Momma ain’t happy, then nobody’s happy” LOL

Looking forward to listening to your topic tomorrow evening. You have certainly helped me and countless others by making this wonderful series of lectures available.
